We reported in August that many Floor customers had been complaining their tablets and laptops had been struggling pointless thermal throttling.

Microsoft’s Floor Professional 6 and Floor E-book 2 reportedly dropping to 400 MHz clock charges (from 1.6 GHz)  following a seemingly botched firmware replace. As well as, the gadgets weren’t using Intel’s Turbo Enhance know-how, which means efficiency was all the time removed from optimum.

The difficulty seems to be because of an erroneously set CPU flag known as BD PROCHOT (bi-directional processor sizzling), which tells the processor to throttle down because of excessive system temperatures.

Microsoft then acknowledged the problem, and promised an answer, saying:

“We’re conscious of some clients reporting a situation with their Floor Books the place CPU speeds are slowed. We’re shortly working to handle by way of a firmware replace.”

Yesterday a Microsoft engineer confirmed that a repair is being examined and it is going to be shipped to everybody by means of Home windows Replace when it passes Microsoft’s high quality requirements.

“Thanks for reporting the problem. We’re testing a repair that may launch as quickly because it passes our high quality testing. When the repair is launched it is going to be made accessible by means of Home windows Replace,” Eddy Atinda, a Microsoft worker acknowledged.

Microsoft has not too long ago launched Floor Professional 6 firmware into the Launch Preview Ring, which seems to ship a repair, so until the rest goes mistaken the repair might quickly enter common circulation.
