3D model description
I wanted a large Snowman decoration which doesn’t take forever to 3D print, so I designed this fast-printing, low-poly snowman to print in ‘vase mode’ (and at 0.8mm line width) to optimise print speeds and minimise filament usage.
At the default scale, the snowman stands at approximately 46cm/18” tall (banana for scale 😊) and is broken down into sections so it can be printed on most FDM printers (minimum print bed of 210mm x 210mm required) and then stacked. On a high-speed 3D printer (Voron, Creality K1, Bambu P1P/P1S/X1 etc.), the entire snowman can be printed in around only 6 hours!
After printing the parts, simply assemble the snowman using a little glue where required (hot glue worked well for me). Slots are included in the body/head to help secure the nose and arms, and there is a flat section on the front of the upper body section to make it easier to attach the buttons. I had loads of fun making these with the kids and we now have a (not so) small army of giant snowmen!
I hope you enjoy the design too, and I would love to see photos of your printed snowmen (and snow-women)
Please check out my other fast-printing designs, and keep checking back or follow me, as I have loads more on the way soon.

3D printing settings
The main components of this model have been designed to print using ‘vase mode’, including the three body/head sections and the hat (excluding the brim/band).
The other parts should be printed in non-vase mode.
The model has been designed to print best using a 0.8mm line width. I use a 0.32mm layer height, as I find this gives a good balance between print quality and speed.
Please make sure your 3D printer is designed to work safely using whichever settings you decide to use.
