I have a Numbers document with a table and a chart (2D line).
- I can colour text on the table without a problem; all colours work properly with text.
- However, one specific colour doesn’t work properly with one specific chart series; if I set a series to that colour, the series instead looks like a lighter version of whatever (one of) the other series are set to.
Here’s a series of screenshots which hopefully makes the issue clearer than I’m able to with words alone:
- We start with the pink series.

- If I set its colour to anything else, such as teal or pink (notice the cursor position)…

- …the colour correctly changes to whatever I’ve selected.

- However, the second shade of red from the top (notice the cursor position) (which is FF644E (hexadecimal RGB))…

- …doesn’t work, instead changing the series’s colour to a lighter version of whatever colour the other series have.

- The same is true if I change the other series’ colour to something else, like blue.

Replacing FF644E in the Numbers colour picker with any other RGB value results in the series changing colour properly. Switching back to FF644E reintroduces the problem.
All other series on my chart work properly with all colours.
I got my chart to look the way I wanted by replacing the problematic colour with FF644F, which is indistinguishable from FF644E to me, but it’s a really weird problem and I’m curious to know what’s going on here. Any ideas?
(Numbers version is 14.4 (7043.0.93). macOS version is 26.0.)
