Can’t erase/change Usb Stick from MBR to GPT

I’ve tried this on several Macs, most recent M2 Tahoe 26.0.1

1. Erasing to MBR ExFAT is a success.

2. Erasing to GPT (GUID) macOS Extended, journaled

What am I doing wrong?

Also, erasing/changing partitions through Terminal didn’t work. The disk couldn’t be mounted.

Based on the following output

Unmounting disk.  
Creating the partition map 
Waiting for partitions to activate.  
Formatting disk4s1 as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with name   Untitled 2.  
Initialized /dev/rdisk4s1 as a 59 GB case-insensitive HFS Plus volume with a 8192k journal. 
       
    Mounting disk could not mount disk4s1 after erase. 

I’m guessing that the USB stick is broken/corrupted/cheap knockoff.
