At some point, my elderly parents started creating message threads with various family members, and in creating the thread, instead of selecting my phone number, they somehow manage to select my gmail email address.
(I don’t think it’s their fault, honestly, I have caught my phone default-selecting an email address before when I tap a name, but that is a separate issue.)
I keep getting these emails, which arrive via a phonenumber@vzwpix.com email address.
I would love to be able to remove myself from these threads and have them re-add my phone number, but I cannot figure out how to do it. If they appeared in my messages app, I would just use the "leave this conversation" feature, but they don’t appear in the messages app. They only come to me via email.
Is there a way to do this?
I tried to talk my mom through removing me from the thread, but even via an iPad FaceTime session, I couldn’t figure out how to do it. What ways can I mitigate this issue?
