Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit or contact Techmins.com. The website is operated from Germany and is subject, in particular, to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG) where applicable.

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:

Dennis Roy
Immelmannstr. 2
27356 Rotenburg (Wümme)
Germany

Email: techmins@gmx.de

2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Namecheap, Inc., 4600 East Washington Street, Suite 300, Phoenix, AZ 85034, USA.

When you access the website, the hosting infrastructure may automatically process technical connection data such as your IP address, date and time of access, requested page or file, referrer URL, browser type, operating system and HTTP status information. This data is required to deliver the website securely and reliably, detect technical faults and defend against misuse.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in the secure, stable and efficient operation of the website. Where processing is necessary to perform a contract or take steps at your request before entering into a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR may also apply.

Because Namecheap is based in the United States, processing may involve transfers to a third country. Where required by law, appropriate safeguards under Chapter V GDPR, including approved contractual safeguards, are used.

3. WordPress and technically necessary cookies

Techmins uses WordPress as its content management system. WordPress and installed security or administration components may use technically necessary cookies or similar local storage mechanisms, particularly for logged-in administrators and for essential website functionality.

Technically necessary storage is used on the basis of Section 25(2) TDDDG where applicable and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Such mechanisms are not used for advertising profiling.

4. Cookie consent management with CookieAdmin

Techmins uses the WordPress plugin CookieAdmin to display the cookie consent banner, store consent preferences and document consent decisions.

CookieAdmin stores a technically necessary consent cookie named cookieadmin_consent so that the website can remember your privacy choice. According to CookieAdmin, consent records are stored in the website’s own WordPress database. These records may include a consent identifier, consent status, country, an anonymized IP address and the time of the consent action.

This processing is used to remember and document your privacy choices and to demonstrate compliance with applicable data-protection requirements. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(c) GDPR where processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation and, where applicable, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in maintaining verifiable consent records. The consent cookie itself is technically necessary for storing your privacy preference and is therefore used under Section 25(2) TDDDG.

You can review or change your consent preferences at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the website footer.

5. Optional cookies, analytics and advertising

As of the date shown above, Techmins does not intentionally operate active third-party analytics or personalised advertising tracking on the public website.

If analytics, advertising, embedded tracking services or comparable technologies are introduced in the future, they will be added to this Privacy Policy and, where legally required, will not be activated before the appropriate consent has been obtained.

6. Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process the information you provide, including your email address, message content and any information contained in attachments, for the purpose of handling your enquiry.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the communication relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures. In other cases, processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. Where consent is the appropriate legal basis, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR applies.

We retain correspondence only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose and any applicable statutory retention obligations.

7. Newsletter

Techmins does not currently operate an active public email-newsletter service through a third-party mailing provider. If such a service is introduced, the relevant provider, legal basis, consent procedure and retention information will be added to this Privacy Policy before activation.

8. Image optimisation with ShortPixel

Techmins uses ShortPixel Image Optimizer to reduce image file sizes and generate web-optimised image formats.

During image optimisation, media files uploaded by the website operator may be transmitted to ShortPixel’s image-optimisation infrastructure for processing and returned in optimised form. According to ShortPixel, processed images are handled through its optimisation cloud. This service is used for website performance and does not serve to profile website visitors.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in efficient website delivery and reduced data transfer. We avoid intentionally uploading media containing unnecessary personal data for optimisation.

9. External links

Techmins contains links to external websites, manufacturers, documentation, standards organisations and other third-party sources. When you follow an external link, the operator of the destination website becomes responsible for the processing that takes place there. Their privacy policies apply.

10. Legal bases in summary

Depending on the processing activity, personal data may be processed on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Article 6(1)(a) GDPR — consent;
  • Article 6(1)(b) GDPR — performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures;
  • Article 6(1)(c) GDPR — compliance with a legal obligation;
  • Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interests, where those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.

11. Data recipients

Personal data is disclosed only where necessary for operation of the website, fulfilment of legal obligations, handling of enquiries or use of the technical service providers described in this policy. We do not sell personal data.

12. Storage period

Unless a more specific period is stated above, personal data is retained only for as long as required for the purpose for which it was collected. Data may be retained longer where statutory retention duties, legal claims or security requirements apply.

13. Your rights under the GDPR

  • request access to your personal data (Article 15 GDPR);
  • request rectification of inaccurate data (Article 16 GDPR);
  • request erasure (Article 17 GDPR);
  • request restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR);
  • receive data in a portable format where Article 20 GDPR applies;
  • object to processing based on Article 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR (Article 21 GDPR);
  • withdraw consent at any time for future processing where processing is based on consent.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

15. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against accidental loss, unlawful access and unauthorised alteration. Internet transmission can nevertheless never be guaranteed to be completely secure.

16. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when website functionality, service providers or legal requirements change. The current version is published on this page.
