Recent Achievements by Southern California Energy Innovation Network (SCEIN) Startups

- SCEIN startups won four of the five Energy Visionary Awards at the 2020 CEC EPIC Symposium
- 63 SCEIN Companies have participated at SCEIN Annual showcases (live and virtual) since 2018 to a net audience of over 1,000 people
- Sonocharge was named to the Cleantech Group’s 2022 50 to Watch report
- Limelight Steel won the $50,000 grand prize in Cleantech San Diego’s first SCEIN pitch competition
- SCEIN startups won four out of six of the 2022 NREL Industry Growth Forum Awards, and another in 2023
- 31 SCEIN companies were nominated for Verge Accelerate, seven pitched, two were track winners, and
- Harvest Thermal won the 2022 VERGE Accelerate Grand Prize
- 26 SCEIN companies have pitched at San Diego Innovation Council Annual Showcases
- 14 SCEIN companies were referred to Edison Awards sponsoring organization, resulting in three Gold, one Silver, and one Bronze award since 2021
- Aquacycl, ChargeNet, and ReJoule received funding from the San Diego Angel Conference
- 21 SCEIN companies received $150,000 CalSEED Concept Grant Awards, five of those received additional $450,000 Prototype Awards
- 9 SCEIN companies have participated in CalTestBed
- South 8 Technologies and Tyfast were awarded DOE ARPA-E EVs 4 All Grant for a combined $6 million
- ReJoule and Smartville awarded DOE LDES Grants to increase Grid Resilience
- Two SCEIN companies have participated in NREL IN2 as Cleantech San Diego is a Channel Partner Organization
