I’ve installed an App Store app that’s continuously querying outgoing connections. I’m blocking the individual IP addresses using LuLu.
But isn’t there an easier way to block the domain/reverse DNS to finally stop it? The IP addresses have the hostname ecs-x-xx-xx-xxx.compute.hwclouds-dns.com (where each x represents a number).
Do I need to create a rule and enter .+\.compute\.hwclouds-dns\.com as the domain and then block it, as shown in the screenshot? Or what exactly do I need to do? Because even with this method, connections are still being queried.
EDIT: Unfortunately, it’s still not working. I added the new regex rule, but as soon as I reopen the App Store app, I get new outgoing connection requests from LuLu, which I’m supposed to either allow or block. I only want to block the connections belonging to the hostname mentioned above, since it feels like thousands are being requested every time I open the app.
