The latest DJI Goggles 3 appears to combine the best features of the Goggles 2 and Goggles Integra with some notable additions. At first glance, the Goggles 3 retains the familiar shape and style we’ve grown accustomed to but introduces a new strap system – the face rest is now on a hinge, adapting seamlessly to the user’s face, seems to prioritize comfort and usability, but there are concerns about light leak. The front vents have been redesigned for better airflow.

There are two front-facing cameras marks an interesting feature, which helps pilot navigate their surroundings without the need to take the goggles off. We’ve seen similar “pass-through video” feature in previous Skyzone goggles, but the implementation was poor and it wasn’t particularly useful, so Skyzone dropped this feature later on. Let’s hope DJI does it better in the Goggles 3.

Avata 2: DJI’s Next Big Leap

Moving on to the Avata 2, is rumored to be equipped with the same sensor as the DJI Action 4, suggesting significant improvements in image quality and low-light performance. With a dual-band and a higher bitrate, the Avata 2 appears to be a formidable upgrade over its predecessor – the DJI Avata.

The Avata 2 appears to use 3 inch propellers that are mounted with 2 small screws, and have a lengthened body that could accommodate a larger battery, potentially offering longer flight times (possibly over 20 minutes or even 25 minutes). The weight of the Avata 2 is speculated to be around 460g-480g, which is considerably heavier than its predecessor’s 410g. Therefore it could be louder during flight, which might be a drawback for some users. Some sources claim it might be lighter, but it’s not been confirmed yet.

Final Thoughts

As with any leak, it’s important to take these details with a grain of salt until official announcements are made. The potential of the DJI Goggles 3 and Avata 2 is undeniable, and I cannot wait for more updates on these products.
