I’m looking at some video files (captured from various iOS and Android devices) using Finder’s Inspector. In the “more info” section, it lists Dimensions, Codecs, and Duration… but there’s also a “Color profile” which I don’t understand. For image files, this would be something like sRGB, but for video files, it just displays cryptic numbers. Depending on the file, it either displays as “HD (1-1-1)” or “(5-1-5)”. So my questions are:
- Is there a webpage somewhere that explains what the numbers mean for these video color profiles?
- Does one set of numbers indicate a higher-quality video (à la chroma subsampling)?
