3D model description

#CHRISTMASXCULTS

Multicoloured Bauble without using an AMS.
This print produces a really effective end result, and is relatively quick to print all the components (about 1.5 hours for a Bambu).

This is for personal use only, if you wish to sell them, please sign up to my Patreon. https://patreon.com/PrintTech3D

Have some almost-empty spools of filament lying around? – use them up by cutting the filament into 90mm pieces and threading them through the bauble.

Instructions:
– Import the “Bauble.stl” (or “Bauble_smallerslots.stl”) model into your slicer. Use the “cut” tool to slice it in half across the middle. Make sure you keep both halves and select “place on cut”
– Print these two halves.
– Once printed, stick them together with glue, making sure you line up the slots accurately.
– Get some different coloured filament and cut 12, 90mm (approx.) pieces. OR, use some pipe cleaners instead of filament – if using pipe cleaners, I recommend using the “Bauble_smallerslots.stl”
– Slide the filament / pipecleaners through the slots as shown in the GIF.
– Print x2 “Cap_x2” pieces and glue them on the ends of the bauble.
– Print x1 “TopPiece” and glue this on top of one of the caps.
– Hang on the tree!

Troubleshooting:
If the filament is too tight when trying to thread through:
– This may be because your printer isn’t quite dialled in, and/or it is printing too fast.
– Tighter slots make for a great pipe cleaner bauble, so maybe thread pipe cleaners through this one while you change some settings and print another one to thread filament through.
If the filament is too loose and keeps springing out:
– Dial your printer in and maybe try a slightly higher flow rate.
– It could also be the filament, so try different filament inserts.
– It could also be the filament you printed the bauble in, I have printed this model several times, but with one particular filament the slots are too large, so try again with a different one.

– You can also use “Bauble_smallerslots.stl” which will assist keeping the inserts in at the ends
