Welcome to Indie App Spotlight. This is a weekly 9to5Mac series where we showcase the latest apps in the indie app world. If you’re a developer and would like your app featured, get in contact.
Mirage is a brand new app that brings best-in-class desktop wireless screen sharing to your entire Apple ecosystem. You can stream from your Mac to your iPhone, iPad, Vision Pro, or even another Mac. It’s very low latency and has a plethora of great features that make it the one stop shop for remotely using your Mac.
Top features
There are a couple of headlining ways to use Mirage. Most popular way is probably Mac to iPad, which lets you use your Mac desktop on your iPad, with full support for your Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil. This is excellent if you have a powerful Mac Studio or Mac mini at home, but only carry your iPad around as a laptop. With Mirage, you can remote into your Mac with Retina quality. Despite being wireless, it actually performs quite well, and can even support up to 120fps on ProMotion iPads.
Another great use case is Mac to Mac. If you have an older (or less capable) iMac at home, Mirage can allow you to turn that iMac into a secondary monitor for your primary Mac. You can even use a USB-C cable to enhance the stream, making a 5K iMac stream possible.
Mirage doesn’t only support primary or secondary screen sharing though: it can also stream individual app windows. This is awesome if you only care about having one Mac app on your iPad, but otherwise prefer using iPadOS. This use case also extends well to Vision Pro.
Lastly, Mirage supports remote connections through Tailscale. This means that if you have Tailscale (or another form of shared VPN) on both devices, you can access your desktop Mac at home while you’re on the go.

Mirage is available on the App Store for Apple devices running iOS 26 and later. The free version gets you local network streaming in a limited capacity, and Mirage Pro gets you remote access, multi-window, better audio quality, and the highest quality streaming.
Mirage Pro normally comes in at $4.99/month, $39.99/year, and $119 for lifetime, but for 9to5Mac readers, there’s a limited time offer that’ll get you Mirage Pro for just $34.99 for the first year, using code 9to5Mac.
