Some folders on my Mac running macOS Tahoe have suddenly stopped displaying the Name column when I view their contents in Finder’s List View. The behavior appears completely random. There is no clear pattern determining which folders lose the column and which ones retain it. When I right-click the column headers (such as Date Modified, Size, or Kind) to bring up the context menu, the option for Name is missing entirely from the list of available columns, so I cannot simply check a box to turn it back on. I’ve also deleted the .DS_Store file in an affected folder without any success.
Has anyone encountered this bug in Tahoe and does anyone know how to force the Name column back into List View?
