I’ve been using 2 monitors on my Macbook 16″ M1 Pro for years. This week, I can’t get anything to display on one of them.
The monitor is detected, and my mouse is tracked across where the monitor should be, and windows can be placed on the space provided by the screen. But the screen is blank and the monitor states there is no signal. As if the Mac is accounting for the screen, but not sending signal to it.
Troubleshooting methods:
- I hooked up my Windows box to the same powered docking station and set up, and the screen works fine
- I’ve rebooted the Macbook a few times, and updated
- Turned the monitor off and on
- Used the “Force Detection” button
- Turned off the one that works in case MacOS lost the ability to support 2 monitors
- Unplugged and reseated the monitor cable
- Swapped the DisplayPorts used on the docking station
- Tried all Thunderbolt ports on the Macbook
- Changed the Thunderbolt cable
Nothing makes a change.
- M1 Pro 16″
- Sequoia 15.3.2
- Thunderbolt-certified cable into powered docking station to DisplayPort into monitor
Any tips for fixing or troubleshooting?
