Siemens Digital Industries Software has recently introduced its Additive Manufacturing Special Interest Group (AMSIG), a regular meeting of people interested in AM, for the purpose of information exchange, knowledge acquisition, and networking. The company’s stated goal is to give its customers and friends a place to learn, be exposed to new ideas, and share knowledge with a minimal time investment.

The Special Interest Group (SIG) sessions are expected to include demonstrations of Siemens software, discussions about a particular industry or topic, introductions to technology, and information about the latest advancements. Session presenters may be Siemens employees, partners, or customers.

The Siemens AMSIG sessions will take place every two weeks, for 30 minutes, and will be recorded. Members of the SIG will have access to the recordings and will also have access to the various experts who will present during the sessions. Some sessions may include special instruction using Siemens software. Siemens customers will also be able to follow along and learn new processes, but the company aims for these sessions to be valuable to a general audience as well.

The first AMSIG session will take place on February 7th at 10:00 AM Eastern Time (United States), and will be a brief introduction to the SIG concept, a teaser of what to expect in upcoming sessions, and will facilitate questions about the SIG and what’s to come.
