Pennsylvania-based manufacturer Asylon Robotics recently announced new federal approvals for its American-made “drone in a box” system for BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) operation. The news represents an important step for Asylon’s DroneSentry security system to be used across a wide range of possible applications, and follows a demonstration of a single pilot flying six DroneSentry units offsite that occurred last summer. 

Building on Asylon’s eight existing FAA permits for their all-in-one solution, this new approval authorizes Asylon to use off-site staff to conduct flight operations at customer locations. With more than 40,000 fully automated commercial security missions to date, this approval is the result of the rigorous testing process required by FAA regulators. To achieve approval, the drone had to be demonstrated as safe throughout a wide range of conditions and operating environments. 

The DroneSentry system is capable of fully autonomous “point-and-click” piloting and is compatible with a wide range of third-party alarm solutions, allowing it to be seamlessly integrated into existing security infrastructure. It also features live EO/IR video monitoring. Part of their solution is an automated battery-swapping system, meaning that DroneSentry represents “set and forget” peace of mind.
