iphone – Is there a global setting to use HTTPS only on Chrome and Safari on iOS? – Stack Overflow

I have developed a controller that is running a webserver and has a webinterface that can be accessed over it’s own WLAN. It runs on port 80, so HTTP. My client uses iPhone and it always showed an error like “ERR_NO_CONNECTION” on Chrome and also something similar on Safari. We figured out that these devices automatically put https:// in front of the IP address, so there was no webserver to reach.

I bought an iPhone SE with iOS 15.6.1 for testing purposes and I couldn’t replicate the problem, so it has to be some setting on his iPhone. Is there a general setting that is applied to both browsers or are these individual settings for both apps?

I will now also try with iOS 17, but I’m expecting to see the same result.
