ISS Aerospace is an established UK company that designs, builds, and operates cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Systems for a wide range of international clients and industry applications. 

Our fully integrated UAS are BVLOS capable.  They are designed to collect, rapidly process, and deliver meaningful information during autonomous operations in challenging environmental conditions.

This is an office-based role and will require you to commute on weekdays.

Some of the key responsibilities

The main responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

  • Maiden, setup and test flights of UAVs
  • Customer handovers and training sessions
  • Lead, plan and execute complex flight test programs
  • Operating our aircraft during R&D trials either internally or with end customers
  • Fleet management of our own test and demo aircraft
  • Payload testing and data gathering
  • Collaboration with the engineering teams to help refine our drone technology and trial methodologies
  • UK and worldwide travel in support of flight operations, deliveries and trials

Your expertise & skills

  • Excellent piloting skills with the ability to fly manually
  • Confidence in operating UAVs in all flight modes
  • Active in a similar role within the last 12 months
  • Experience with CAA paperwork and requirements
  • Proficient in various GCS applications
  • Experience with Cube and Arducopter
  • Good IT capabilities for cross platform working on GCS
  • Good working knowledge of core UAV components and capabilities
  • Full driving licence, passport, and the ability to be SC cleared

Beneficial To Have

  • Experience operating UAVs over 500kg
  • MoD trials management
  • Project management capabilities
  • PX4 and other flight stacks
  • Knowledge of aircraft tuning and debugging
  • Ability to design and implement detailed test procedures and safety protocols
  • Knowledge and experience of using Edge computing and working with autonomous UAVs
  • Experience of Linux/Ubuntu operating systems
